Tart Farms Policies & Terms of Sale

Thank you for your interest in Tart Farms. We take pride in raising quality Blue Laced Red Wyandotte chickens and strive to provide healthy, well-started chicks to our customers. By placing an order or submitting an inquiry, you acknowledge and agree to the following policies and terms.

Ordering & Payment

Orders are confirmed only after payment has been received and verified by Tart Farms. We currently accept approved payment methods, including Venmo and Zelle. Tart Farms reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion.

Chick Availability

Because we are a small breeder and work with live animals, availability may vary based on hatch rates, fertility, weather conditions, and flock production. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee chick availability or reserve chicks.

Straight Run Chicks

Unless otherwise specified, all chicks are sold as straight run. Tart Farms does not guarantee the sex of straight-run chicks. If sexed chicks are offered, sexing is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate.

Shipping Policy

We carefully package and ship chicks to provide the safest possible travel experience. Shipping dates may be adjusted due to weather conditions, hatch timing, carrier schedules, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Tart Farms is not responsible for delays caused by postal carriers, weather events, transportation disruptions, or circumstances outside of our control once chicks have been accepted by the carrier.

Live Arrival Policy

We guarantee that chicks leave our farm healthy, active, and in good condition. In the rare event of a live arrival issue, the customer must:

Notify Tart Farms within 2 hours of delivery.
Provide clear photographs of the shipping box, shipping label, and any affected chicks.
Retain all packaging materials until the claim is reviewed.

Failure to report issues within the required timeframe may void any consideration for replacement or credit. Any replacement or credit is offered at the sole discretion of Tart Farms and is limited to the value of the affected chicks. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Refunds & Cancellations

Cancellations

Due to the nature of live poultry sales:
Deposits and reservation fees are non-refundable.
Orders canceled by the customer may be eligible for farm credit at the discretion of Tart Farms.
No refunds issued for circumstances beyond our control (carrier delays, weather, or losses occurring after delivery).

Exchanges

Due to strict biosecurity protocols required for our NPIP certification, we cannot accept returns or exchanges of live birds once they have left our facility. We ensure each chick is healthy and active before shipping.

General Terms & Conditions

By purchasing chicks from Tart Farms, the buyer acknowledges that live poultry ownership carries inherent risks. Tart Farms' liability is limited to the purchase price of the chicks. Under no circumstances shall Tart Farms be responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the purchase, shipment, delivery, care, or ownership of any poultry.

Limitation of Liability

By submitting an inquiry, placing an order, making a payment, or accepting delivery of chicks from Tart Farms, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Sale and Policies.
